It's time to PARTY... like a loaf!

It's time to PARTY... like a loaf!

This article is about one Bad Grandma fan's experience with making one of Bad Grandma’s Recipe Hell recipes: Party Sandwich Loaf. Read on to learn how Carissa earned herself a free dishtowel.

~Carissa, a fan of both Bad Grandma and party sandwich loaves, sent us an email a few days ago. Here's the loaftastic tale of one of her favorite foods:

"My mom (Carla) made the loaf. I request it every few years and she groans but makes it anyway."

    ~She continues:

"The bread was a white loaf made in a breadmaker. Mom says, " instead of a Pullman loaf it turned out to be a caboose!". It has one layer of egg salad, one layer of braunschweiger spread and one layer of Spam salad (since we live in Austin, MN, aka Spamtown, USA, the birthplace of Spam luncheon meat and the Hormel Co. headquarters), per request."

~And what about that luscious outer layer?

"It's frosted with whipped cream cheese and milk, and decorated with hand cut floral arrangement of radishes, green onion, pimento stuffed green olives, hard boiled eggs and parsley."

~Now preparing the loaf is one thing, but how do you get the perfect presentation?

"To get the nice cut chill for several hours, slice with a serrated knife and "keep your fingers crossed"! "

~But the big question: HOW WAS IT??

"I think it was very yummy."

~Now that's what Bad Grandma likes to hear. However, all that said, sister Courtney has a differing opinion:

"My sister, Courtney, says "it's the stuff nightmares are made of"."

~Whatever your opinion on the party sandwich loaf, Bad Grandma thinks this particular one prepared by Carissa's mom is fantastic! One could say it's the "loaf of the party".

Do you think you have what it takes?

Can you party sandwich loaf with the best of them? Do you have the will to live loaf to the fullest? If you create one of the dishes featured in Recipe Hell: Party Sandwich Loaf and send me photos, I’ll send you the free Bad Grandma dishtowel of your choice. (Just like Carissa!). Or, try out one of our other recipes in Bad Grandma’s Recipe Hell

Just send your photos and contact info to grandma (at) badgrandmadesigns.com

Loafing around (but in a good way),
    xoxo Bad Grandma

Gelatin: It Brings Us All Together

    The completed Rainbow Jello dish
Check out this article about one woman's Jello creation. After reading the recipes listed in Bad Grandma’s Recipe Hell recipes: Jell-O: A really fucking fun food, Judith G. was inspired to show off her gelatin chops to Bad Grandma. She made something beautiful: a tasty dessert... but also a chance to bridge the understanding between human and animal. Be sure to read to the end, dear.

    Chrissy's Jolly Jiggly Jell-o!

Chrissy P.'s recreation of the Bavarian Pink Cream Jello recipe
Gram, I did my best...I used Margaritaville brand Strawberry Daiquiri flavored gelatin and no strawberries. With the extra that wouldn't fit in the molds I added Stoli Strawberry Vodka and got 3 Jello-Shots!
